Meeting on books and films, use of films in prisons. Discussion by the Committee concerning adaptation of books by well-known authors to the screen: suggestion for screen credits, etc. Mr Mullin, of Goldwyn Pictures, explains that a great many eminent authors, so called, have failed because they have refused to take the screen seriously - have refused to recognize it as another medium of expression and attempted to apply to the writing of their original screen stories the same methods they use in writing stories and novels. A study is being made of the use of films in penal institutions.
