Preview of PENROD AND SAM. General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) representative Mrs Harry Lilly reports 34 states have motion picture divisions. "The sentiment is changing from indifferent interest to definite responsibility. The questions which are raised most often are "How may local groups organise so as to be effective in this work" and, "what pictures do you recommend that we urge patronage for?'

Long Description:
Preview of Penrod and Sam: plea by filmmaker for promotion by the Committee. Progress of work by Women's Clubs. The Reviewing Committee appointed by the National Education Association is suspending operations for the summer. During the seven weeks in which they sat the Committee reviewed 10 features, 67 short subjects and 12 news reels, a total of 124,000 feet of film. On June 11th (roughly four out of the eleven weeks of reviewing having elapsed) the Committee rendered a report of their work to date. This report indicated that of the films reviewed 80% of the features, 90% of the short subjects and 32% of the news reels were judged suitable for educational purposes with no or little revision.Linked Films
