Foreign relations - Geneva

Many documents on the Geneva Conference and unsuccessful French attempts to have it approve restrictions on foreign (American) films. They claim they want cultural and spiritual, not economic, protectionism, while U.S. case is that motion pictures should be considered in the same bracket as cars. NB extent of State Department involvement in these negotiations. Several documents offer succinct and useful summaries of recent attempts by France, Austria and others to impose quota and trade restrictions on motion pictures.
