Castle asks Coffin about Potemkin, which he saw with Fairbanks and Pickford ('Doug and Mary'). Coffin recognizes the potential ideological impact of the film, but can't help being enthusiastic about it: "We were all agreed that it was one of the best motion pictures we had ever seen, and I am surprised that its sale is sticking in America." He seems reluctant to attempt to stop films coming into the U.S. from Berlin through consular regulation (as requested by Castle), feeling this is beyond his power.Fairbanks & Pickford are interested in producing their own films in Russia
