Einfeld of WB had complained about rejection of a clinch still. -- "Probably you rejected it for fear that it could easily be turned into a horizontal. We admit this, but to be fair to Warner Bros. we cannot very well blame them for something they have not as yet done."A still from Warner Bros. The Key was rejected by Lewis yet passed by Thompson (McCarthy). It is a still of an embrace, the thought being that it could be turned easily into a horizontal. Thompson notes that Warner Bros. can not be blamed for something they have not yet done. Includes another letter from Lewis to Thompson, same day, and Lewis reply.
