Africa Speaks

Concerning the Columbia film Africa Speaks. Two main issues: the authenticity of the film and the claims of its brutality, particularly in a scene when a young African man is ripped apart by a lion. Columbia claims the majority of the scenes were shot in Africa but that there are some connecting shots, etc., shot elsewhere, that are included to keep the film moving at an entertaining pace. Includes two press releases concerning Ingagi, another nature, sound film that was banned in Ohio until it was proved to be inauthentic at which point it was exhibited as entertainment.
