Complaint against various companies involved in the ownership or leasing of motion picture theaters in California, charging them with unfair methods of competition. Principal respondent is West Coast Theatres, Inc. Allegations include, due to their majority control of so many Californian theaters, withholding, or threatening to withhold, patronage from interstate producers and distributors to ensure that they do not negotiate with the competitors, demanding that repeat runs of films are not offered to competitors until such a time as the films are worthless for exhibition purposes, and leasing films they do not intend to exhibit but by doing so, ensuring that their competitors can not exhibit them. Included here are the answers to these allegations from the respondents. They deny the charges.
