Executive in charge of production, Warner Bros.-First National. Entered the motion picture industry as a theatre manager in 1922, joining Warner Bros. in 1923 and rapidly becoming head of the company’s publicity department. When Warner Bros. and First National consolidated, Wallis was placed in charge of studio management for First National, first as studio manager in 1928 and then as associate in charge of production. Producer at Warner Bros., 1930-33. After Darryl Zanuck left Warners in 1933, Wallis became the executive in charge of production for Warner Bros.-First National, leaving in 1944 to become a successful independent producer.
