Terry Ramsaye


Editor-in-chief of non-dramatic production for Pathé, 1918-31, then became editor of trade paper Motion Picture Herald. Early career as journalist before becoming advertising and publicity director of the Mutual Film Corporation in 1915, where he founded the Screen Telegram newsreel. After World War I he worked for Samuel L. Rothafel at the Rialto and Rivoli theatres on Broadway, and on newsreels.  Between 1920 and 1925, while working as a magazine writer, he wrote his two volume history of the motion picture, A Million and One Nights. He then worked on newsreels and non-fiction productions for Paramount and Metro, before moving to Pathé to edit Pathe Review. In 1931 he became editor of Motion Picture Herald.
