First vice president in charge of production, Paramount Publix Corporation. Early career as actor, bandleader and participant in the Alaska goldrush, Lasky became a vaudeville producer, and entered the motion picture industry in association with brother-in-law Samuel Goldfisch (later Goldwyn) and Cecil B. DeMille in 1913 as president of the Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company. The company combined with Adolph Zukor’s Famous Players Film Company in July, 1916, and Lasky became first vice president of the new corporation in charge of the company's production in Hollywood and Long Island. He remained in this role until September 1932, when he resigned to form Jesse L. Lasky Productions, releasing through Fox and later United Artists and RKO.
