Investment banker and executive. After acquiring a theatre chain through his nvestment activities, Kennedy entered the motion picture industry by purchasing Film Booking Offices of America (FBO) Pictures Corporation in February, 1926, becoming president and chairman. In 1928 he also became chairman of the board of directors of Keith-Albee-Orpheum Corporation, and special advisor to Pathé Exchange, Inc. He constructed the deal by which the Radio Corporation of America took over FBO and KAO to form Radio Keith Orpheum in 1928. He subsequently became the producer of Gloria Swanson pictures for United Artists, and retired from production in 1933 to return to banking and politics. In 1936 he served as special advisor to Paramount Pictures, writing a report on the mismanagement that had led to its bankruptcy.
