Long Description:

March 18, 1933. SHEEHAN to HAYS. The situation here, with which you are familiar, has delayed acknowledgement of your letters of March 8 and 10. Sidney Kent has already assured you that we understand the problem and heartily support the measure you propose. So far as the Fox Film Corporation is concerned, our policy is definite. We are endeavoring to make pictures which will be understood by and be entertaining to every person in every audience. If at any time we digress from this policy it will not be because we have chosen to debase our product in a short-sighted attempt to defeat the emergency of the moment. Any company which does this deliberately runs the chance of injury to itself and perhaps to the whole industry. Against such an eventuality we look to you for protection.
