Suggests he have Wingate call a meeting of studio heads to impress the importance of the reaffirmation "... unless you can get the members to adhere to the rules and regulations that they agree to, it is my intention to go them one better - not for the purpose of "going them one better" but for the purpose of bringing forcefully to your attention these wrongs."

Long Description:

March 9, 1933 HARRY WARNER to HAYS... I think it would be advisable for you to send to each of the heads of the companies on the coast, a copy of the new resolution, and advise Mr. Wingate to call a meeting of all the heads of the companies and impress upon them the importance of this resolution. If you speak to them one at a time, there will be the same excuses as in the past. In this way, they will understand the matter thoroughly. You know that our Company has always been in accord with you to help develop higher standards in the motion picture industry, but we cannot afford to sit idly by and allow other companies to do things to destroy us. As I have explained to you at various times, unless you can get the members to adhere to the rules and regulations that they agree to, it is my intention to go them one better - not for the purpose of just "going them one better" but for the purpose of bringing forcefully to your attention these wrongs.
