Preview of Main Street. Hays notes objections to THE PILGRIM and BELLA DONNA Report of June 19 meeting of the Committee: Discussion of Main Street (story by Sinclair Lewis), proposed for production by Warners. Complaints noted concerning The Pilgrim, Bella Donna, The Affairs of Lady Hamilton, and The Mark of the Beast. The National Health Council met to discuss films that could promote periodic health examinations. The consensus of opinion definitely favored a dramatic film, the message to be woven into the story. Distribution of this film when completed is to be mainly through non-theatrical channels with as large theatrical distribution as possible. The use of music in films discussed.
