EDITORIAL COMMENT: See also 06-1160 to 06-1166 (Censorship - Canada) on difficulties over The Trial of Mary Dugan.

Trouble with Canadian censors who are all over 70, and may order eliminations and bans to justify their own jobs. The Trial of Mary Dugan passed by censors then banned in Quebec. Feeling that things should be brought to a head. Hays wires Orr, "I am very much inclined to write a letter to the Prime Minister from here and ask him what happened but before doing this I think perhaps we should give thought as to whether this particular picture is the one to have a showdown on."
