Long Description:

Hays wrote to all companies June 25, 1928 to inform their heads of recent violations by their companies. Also to Jack Warner particularly about Vitaphone: "Whether or not the present censorship laws where they exist shall apply to sound is a question to be settled. With violations such as these on the attached slip, [profanity, race] there is no doubt about the censorship law being applied to talking motion pictures. If such laws do not apply now, they will be passed and they will be passed in many state where they do not now exist."
