'Overplay of Sex and Crime Suggested in Editorial Criticisms." collection of newspaper material objecting to crime and sex pictures, including a letter from a concerned Riverside editor worried about the effect of sex films on his 17-year-old daughter -- particularly refers to Our Dancing Daughters and The Man Who Laughs. Russell is concerned about public perceptions of movies as reflected in the newspaper editorials he quotes. He suggests a "broadside" on offending producers in the form of critical comment actually being fed to newspapers, as it is claimed is done in California: "I feel that the material I have would help the "watch your step" necessity if sent to `key" men." public opinion
