Economy - fan mail

Information concerning the increasing cost of sending out fan photographs. There are many suggestions included from various studios. One is the notion of centralizing fan mail, perhaps to be handled entirely by the academy. Another is to charge ten cents (or twenty-five cents with profits to go to the Relief Fund) for each photograph requested by fans. Mary Pickford started the latter earlier in the year (with all proceeds to go to the fan's charity of choice) and her fan mail dropped to almost nothing.
