Regarding a bill currently before House of Representatives which would increase the amount of money in dispute for arbitration to be deemed allowable(from $3000 to a minimum of $5000). The AAA are very much against this amendment as it would further restrict the recourses available to the small businessman. Urging Pettijohn, and through him the members of MPPDA, to help defeat it."We have been trying to decrease the present $3000 limitation and the passage of the bill will represent a backward step, for business generally favours the enforceability of arbitration agreements irrespective of the amount involved."
