Attorney and general manager, Associated Theatre Owners of Indianapolis, 1927-1935; then Member, Production Code Administration. A graduate of Harvard and a lawyer, Metzger entered the motion picture industry in 1919 and was half owner of an Indianapolis-based circuit of six theatres, before becoming president and then attorney and general manager of Associated Theatre Owners of Indiana on its organization in 1927. Active participant in exhibition trade activities, he was a member of the board of directors of Allied States in the early 1930s, and the author of a pamphlet on "The Practical Operation of Boards of Arbitration in the Motion Picture Industry" (1927). In the early 1930s, Metzger also had a brief academic career at Indiana University as lecturer in dental jurisprudence.
