Protestant clergyman, involved with the industry through his promotion of the Church and Drama Association during 1926 and 1927, and through his involvement in the development of Cecil B. deMille’s King of Kings. He subsequently fell into prolonged and bitter dispute with the industry and the MPPDA over his claim on a share of King of King’s receipts, and he had a leading role in the development of organized Protestant opposition to the MPPDA from 1929.  From 1932 to 1936 he was Executive Secretary of the American Eugenics Society.
