July 2012: A summary of MPPDA Digital Archive Usage Statistics is presented below.
Activity over the past year has increased at a steady pace and there are now in excess of 120 registered MPPDA Digital Archive users from all over the world. In recent months a couple of additional research information type questions have been added to the registration process to give us an indication on why the archive is of particular interest to our users. From these responses we can readily note that our user group have a range of research agendas from overall American and Hollywood Cinema historical interests to specific studies into censorship, trade, silent film, gender, crime and the Hays era. From the thirty most recent registrants there was indication that 11 were undertaking a course or studying (undergraduate and postgraduate), 14 were in the process of writing books or papers and 5 were using the material for teaching preparation or research archives. The majority of users found the MPPDA Digital Archive by internet search/Google or via the Bioscope blog but a number were also give the site directly from either a colleague or teacher. It is encouraging that the site is being both readily found online and recommended by our peers.
Google analytics have been run from the website for the past 10 months (from October 2011 to July 2012) and some interesting trends from this period can be noted.

- Average of 9.68 pages viewed by each visitor
- Average of 6 minutes, 45 seconds spent on the site by each visitor
Access via Firefox browsers was the most popular with the majority of users on Windows based machines.
